Who We Are & The Music Department Legacy at Jorge Mas Canosa Middle

In the corridors of Jorge Mas Canosa Middle School (`15735 SW 144 Street, Miami, FL 33196`), the band room and orchestra rehearsal hall are where young adolescents discover poise, teamwork, and self-belief. Yet quality middle school instrumental education requires far more than passion alone—a single concert cello, rotary French horn, or bassoon costs thousands of dollars to acquire and maintain.

Recognizing that household financial constraints should never silence a talented child, Bryan Grecco (President), Kimberly Colon (Vice President & Secretary), Marbelys Grecco (Treasurer), and Mirlynez Iglesias-Mendez (Registered Agent), alongside devoted music parents, formally incorporated PALADINS MUSIC CLUB INC. in March 2015 (Florida Sunbiz Document #N15000002228) and secured federal IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity recognition in April 2016.

FIVE PILLARS OF CHIVALRIC MUSICIANSHIP

Core Tenets of the Musical Paladin

Guided by the code of the Paladin and the precision of the symphonic score, our booster club upholds five foundational commitments to our middle school musicians and families.

TENET I • TEMPO GIUSTO 01

Artistic Discipline & Team Camaraderie

In an orchestra or concert band, every chair matters—from first-chair violin to third-part bass clarinet. We cultivate daily practice habits, rhythmic accountability, and mutual encouragement where older 8th-grade section leaders mentor incoming 6th-grade Paladins.

♩ = 108 • SECTIONAL UNITY & MENTORSHIP
TENET II • SEMPRE FORTE 02

Universal Access to Quality Instruments

No child at Jorge Mas Canosa Middle School is ever turned away from the music room because their family cannot afford an instrument rental. Our booster club subsidizes school-owned brass, woodwind, percussion, and string instruments so talent can flourish freely.

♩ = 120 • 180+ SCHOOL INSTRUMENTS SUPPORTED
TENET III • MAESTOSO 03

Civic Pride Through Music

Representing SW 144th Street and West Kendall with dignity, our ensembles perform at school assemblies, community book fairs, winter galas, and Florida Bandmasters / Orchestra Association Music Performance Assessments (MPA) across Miami-Dade County.

♩ = 96 • AMBASSADORS OF M-DCPS DISTRICT 7
TENET IV • CON SPIRITO 04

Fierce Parental Solidarity

Operated 100% by volunteer officers and music parents—with zero paid executives—we load percussion trailers, hem concert uniforms, chaperone field trips, and cheer from the front row so our students feel the unwavering support of their families.

♩ = 126 • 100% VOLUNTEER PARENT POWERED
TENET V • RISOLUTO FIDUCIARY CODE 05

Stewardship with Fiduciary Integrity

As an active Florida non-profit corporation (N15000002228) and IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 30-0861419), every dollar contributed by parents, alumni, and local Miami businesses is strictly ring-fenced for student musical instruction, instrument repairs, sheet music licensing, and ensemble performance expenses.
